
Marqués de Larios Street
Marqués de Larios Street is one of Málaga’s main streets. It’s a pedestrian area perfect for strolling and enjoying the city’s best shops. Besides clothing, you’ll find some of the best ice cream shops here. In the middle of the street is the famous Casa Mira, known for its delicious nougat and wafer ice cream. Plan your walk to visit Plaza de la Constitución and continue to Alcazabilla Street, where you can find the Alcazaba and the Roman Theatre.
History
Marqués de Larios Street is the most famous street in Málaga’s historic center. Named after Domingo Larios y Larios, the second Marqués de Larios, it was constructed between 1886 and 1891, funded by his inherited wealth. This main street connects Plaza de la Constitución with La Alameda Principal. The street is known for its impressive architecture, with uniform building heights, French windows, and distinctive curved corners, making it Málaga’s most majestic street.

This is Málaga’s main shopping street and the center of many celebrations. It’s fully pedestrianized, connecting Alameda Principal and Plaza de la Constitución. During Christmas, there’s an amazing display with over 4,000,000 lights, the best on the Costa del Sol. The carnival parade starts here in February, and May features La Noche en Blanco with street performers. There’s always something happening, and if not, it’s perfect for shopping. Exploring the alleys around Larios adds to the magic of this historic city.
